Massachusetts Minimum Wage for 2015

Minimum wages in Massachusetts will increase from $8.00 per hour to $9.00 per hour effective January 1, 2015.

In addition the service rate is also increasing from the current $2 per hour to $3 per hour starting January 1, 2015.

The law also increases the minimum wage for agricultural employees in Massachusetts to $8 per hour.

Wait staff and service bartenders may be paid the service rate if they regularly receive tips of more than $20 per month and if their average hourly tips when added to the service rate are equal to or exceed the regular minimum wage.

Legislation passed in June 2014 calls for additional minimum wage increases in 2016 and 2017 to $10 and $11 per hour respectively
